The Journey of Art and Life Style | Exhibition Review

DESIGN WEEK GUANGZHOU 2022

DESIGN SHENZHEN 2022

Comparing “LEGO’s Paradise” to a song is probably the most vivid analogy we heard at the Design Shenzhen and Guangzhou Design Weeks, which were held consecutively at the end of February and the beginning of March.

On the show floor, there were always different visitors with doubts asking: what do you do?

Our staff made all kinds of relevant replies, and our public number also increased 999+ followers in these days. But come to think of it, after this, the probability is that we will also be drowned in the redundant information, no one asked.

The intersection between strangers is often only in a moment, short-term memory can’t let some information parked in the human mind for a long period of time, but repeated images and reachable words, and the experience superimposed on the exhibition site can, so at the first time of the end of the exhibition in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, I’d like to take you to review the site again.

As we have repeatedly introduced on site, “LEGO’s Paradise” is an original lifestyle brand that brings artists and designers from all over the world together.

What is Life Style ?

From the booth design to each piece of artwork inside, “LEGO’s Paradise” is trying to interpret that lifestyle involves your food, clothing, housing and transport.

Just like some people like the hustle and bustle of gathering with friends, while others like the quietness of being alone, some people love to listen to music, some people seek healing from nature, some people love flowers and plants, some people love animals, some people pursue simplicity, and some people prefer abundance. …… These can almost correspond to the whole of a person’s material and spiritual world.

In our opinion, it’s not good or bad, high or low, it’s only about people’s choices, which are related to their upbringing, education and vision.

We recognise the existence of every kind of lifestyle, but we still have our own way of life. The lifestyle advocated by “LEGO’s Paradise” is rich, and the scenes presented are built on the spiritual world of artists from all over the world. Just as every one of you who stays here feels:

It’s Relatively Niche

Art is difficult to describe, sometimes it is even just a feeling, in China, it is still a relatively niche field. In China, it is still a relatively niche field. There are a lot of single category art works, but very few of them are really related to the various dimensions of people’s lifestyles.

Artist Residence, which is about the intersection of the public’s daily life and art, is more directly related to people’s spiritual world, which was almost an uncharted field before this, just like the first look at “Bald Boy’s Amusement Park”, many people expressed their puzzlement, because in this era where haste and going through the motions have become the norm, it still requires patience to interpret and understand, and those who have patience are always only a minority in this world. few in this world.

It’s Spiritual

Just as we have introduced these art products from the dimensions of the five human senses, these products and scenes are presented in a wide variety of forms and in different areas, presenting very different facets of life.

The lifestyle advocated by “LEGO’s Paradise” is currently reflected in three main scenes in the space.

The Living Room:

The living room should not just be a place for sitting, it may not be very tidy or even a bit messy, but it is a place full of fun, where you can have fun with yourself and your friends.

Lonely Drinking:

At the end of a busy day, it’s nice to come home to a corner of your own, to drink alone or to laze around, even if it’s just for a few simple minutes.

UNOLAI Reading:

A book, a lamp, a JoJo bear, this is relying on the daily love of the artist Lai Yu Nong UNOLAI to build a reading scene, advocating a relaxed life, busy intervals can also take a short period of time to enjoy reading.

Not Easily Defined

Whether in Design Shenzhen or Guangzhou Design Week, many people, when they first saw “LEGO’s Paradise”, used a lot of key words in their mind to describe it, thinking that such a place should belong to a certain type of people, such as children, but in our opinion, adults can also have the right to have fun.

“LEGO’s Paradise” is a big world, just like life, which is never one-sided, with bitterness and happiness always co-existing.

The richness of human beings determines the richness of the world. Some things, like human beings, can be seen at a glance, but not in “LEGO’s Paradise”, where many details are hidden and need to be looked at carefully and discovered by each and every one of them.

We met many people with different tastes and pleasures at the scene, and when the works and people’s thoughts cross-flow in these vivid scenes, it also let us understand that art has more room for imagination in real life.

Resonance in this world is all possible because of encounters and expressions. What other forms will it take? We can’t figure it out, we only know the answer when we try.
