Projects

Driven by a sense of purpose, bringing modern art and design aesthetics into urban villages, altering the original image of urban villages in people’s minds – this was the original intention behind the initiative of another art gallery.

This exhibition is a practical demonstration of this concept. As an original lifestyle brand that gathers artists and designers from around the world, “GWONG TAU ZAI’s Playground” originated from its founder Liang He LEGO, who invited a group of artist friends around the world to join and establish the brand.

At the exhibition, not only are their artworks, sculptures, lights, chairs, and more presented across more than ten categories in the field of art and design, but also Liang He LEGO, acting as the curator, shared some details about the creative process.

GENEVA Sound of Geneva × Liang He

Time flows with music.

It’s been nearly half a year since Liang He LEGO collaborated with the Swiss sound brand GENEVA on the classic speaker series, themed “Visit to the Moonlit Forest by the Lonely Stroller.” During this time, we have continued to explore what music can bring to people. In empty rooms or solitary corners with a hint of tipsiness, music serves as a solace, soothing emotions.

Taking music as the catalyst, the brand drivepro invites Liang He LEGO to share the inspiration and stories behind the artistic collaboration with GENEVA speakers at drivepro house in Sanlitun Taikoo Li, Beijing.

CIFF Exhibition

GWONG TAU ZAI and Friends

The four-day 51st China (Guangzhou) International Furniture Fair has successfully concluded.

Unlike before, many art products and scenes from The Bald Dude’s Playground were scattered yet systematically arranged within the 5.2B08 Lightspace booth space.

From photos taken at the scene, we catch a glimpse of their traces. In rather serious office or living spaces, we can see:

· A series of paintings by The Bald Dude’s author Liang He LEGO, these exploratory, thoughtful, and heartfelt paintings, created in collaboration with top Italian lighting brand FLOS and renowned Swiss sound brand GENEVA, have transformed into tangible art lamps, speakers, sofas, sculptures…

As the spring rain drizzles down, time flows like water.

She comes from Finland: Embrace the diversity of life

A chair is the most commonly used item in home life, but after enduring the test of time, It’s no longer just about providing a place to sit.

The “Happy Chair,” a standout piece in the splendid works of the renowned Finnish architect Kivi Sotamaa, was showcased at the recent Shenzhen and Guangzhou Design Week exhibition “GWONG TAU ZAI’s Playground.”

It was a privilege for everyone present to witness firsthand this charismatic chair, along with the collaborative edition launched with artist Liang He LEGO.

GWONG TAU ZAI's PLAYGROUND EXHIBITION: A Journey of Art and Home Lifestyle

Everyone did their own thing and ended up presenting a complete track, each expressing what they wanted.

Comparing “GWONG TAU ZAI’s PLAYGROUND” to a song is probably the most vivid analogy we heard at the Design Shenzhen and Guangzhou Design Weeks, which were held consecutively at the end of February and the beginning of March.

During the exhibition, there were always different visitors peep in and asking: what kinds of things do you do?

Our social accounts also increased 999+ followers in these days. But come to think of it, after this, the probability is that we will also be drowned in the redundant abyss of informations.

The intersection between strangers is often only in a moment, short-term memory can not make some information long-term stationed in the human mind, but the repetition of images and reachable text, and the experience at the exhibition site superimposed but can, so in the first time of the end of the exhibition in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, to take you to look back at the scene again.

Liang He for FLOS:

You stand under the light, admiring the view, while others under the light admire you.

By creating the state of a person drinking alone at home and falling into a state of micro-brewing, it explores the connection between one’s spiritual world and the space and art products.

In 2022, Liang He LEGO was invited by FLOS to create a painting called “Landscape” under the Frisbi chandelier, which appeared in the micro-brewery corner of [GWUONG TAU ZAI’s Playground] at the site of the recently held Design Shenzhen and Guangzhou Design Week.

A weak light shines on the human body, and just like the Happy Chair surrounded by many skinheads, the light is also filled with people looking at you, which is a strong contrast to the lonely state of a person who is slightly drunk and drinking.

This scene mirrors one of the few moments when one is alone with oneself.
