LEGO LIANG
The painting on the bag is inspired by the cover created by LEGO LIANG for Qin Zhao’s novel <Hope And Sorrow In A Parisian Auction House>. Against the backdrop of the magnificent Haussmann complex in Paris, with the inverted Eiffel Tower on the central axis, brilliantly blossoming fireworks above, and churning, turbulent waves below. Such scenery hints at the fate of heroine, who goes from hopeful to disillusioned, and the iris and acacia that grow like vines on the tower are also important elements in the book.
The creative concept of “jigsaw puzzle” is introduced by artist into the painting, which allows the painting to be presented not only as a whole, but also to be split into several independent parts.
The image of the girl in white with the gavel in her hand recurs in the picture, sometimes looking up, sometimes falling, sometimes hiding in the dark as a shadow, sometimes being trapped in the whirlpool…
