KIVI SOTAMAA & TUULI SOTAMAA

LEGO LIANG

Spring ,2023, we are launching an exclusive scenario that explores the connection between the spiritual world of a person and the space and art products by creating a state of being alone in one’s home and falling into a state of slight intoxication.

At the same time, we will join hands with original lifestyle brand “LEGO’S paradise”, together with different artists and designers from all over the world, to create a rich artist’s home space at the upcoming Design Shenzhen and Guangzhou Design Week, presenting the lifestyle we advocate and promote, and will also open the “Microbrew” corner. The “Microbrew” corner will also be open to the public.

Lonely Drinking

Living in the crowded and complicated city, it is difficult to be alone, whether in time and space or spirit, really belong to ourselves, face their own alone time is actually very little, commuting on the underground with headphones on the moment, go home squatting on the toilet to let go of the moment, put down the mobile phone a little while before going to bed, everyone seems to be able to escape from the reality for a short time.

Stepping on a small space delimited by a carpet, having an exclusive seat, a coffee table, a beam of light, a glass of wine, and spending a small period of time belonging to oneself at will has actually become a luxury to a certain extent.

The essence of the world, always inseparable from the spirit and material exploration, vision, hearing, taste, smell, touch, the five senses of man is our contact with the world’s most direct entrance, as we have always advocated that everyone should have alone with their own time, point on the favourite aromatherapy, play some of the music you love to listen to, or just sit quietly in a chair to relax for a moment, thinking or, laze also line, or Or just sit quietly in a chair and relax for a while, thinking or relaxing, or having a drink with nothing else to do. ……

Giving a unique spiritual core to every art product that may seem insignificant to others is our sense of ritual in life, and also one of the few warmth that can be found in the roar and panic of the times.

Far Away From Reality

Celebrate your soul

LEGO penned comic character ‘GWONG TAU ZAI’ is jointly developed and created with brands or designers from all over the world. Eye-catching colours, playful shapes, and attitudes full of flirtation with the world fill the whole scene.

Here, the world around you can be less bright, and if it happens to be a spring evening and you’re sitting close to the window sill with a breeze blowing by, the feeling is subtle, like being in a drink, giddy, but comfortable.

Sitting alone on it, surrounded by all kinds of ‘GWONG TAU ZAI’s.
Like performance art, living as an ‘artist’.

LEGO

A Happy Chair with artistic tension, the print on the chair – “ONE HUNDRED KINDS OF LIFE(COLOR VERSION)” – is a selection of the various forms of the skinhead from different periods of time during the ten years of continuous creation by LEGO.

Starting from a painting and blending with the fabric on the chair, the process is full of fun and interesting contrasts. From a distance, the chair appears as a patchwork of brightly coloured blocks, while up close a clearer pattern can be seen.

The Happy Chair was originally designed by renowned Finnish architect Kivi Sotamaa as an armchair for his wife Kaisa, who had dreamt of a big, happy armchair where she could sit by the fire and read quietly and happily on cold Finnish days, and the Happy Chair was designed in response to her dream.

The chair creates a warm, cosy nest, insulated from many of the outside world’s distractions, and sitting on it is like being wrapped in a warm embrace. The chair is also a modern interpretation of the classic wingback chair, first created in the 17th century.
