In the late 1980s, there was a fashion movement called cocooning, which was explained as a distraction from everyday life that drove people to isolate themselves from the harsh realities of the outside world, by creating the perfect environment to satisfy individual needs and fantasies. They hide in their own “corner”, away from the hustle and bustle, to resist the unease brought by the real world.
Scented candles are also a typical representative of this movement. The dim yellow tones, limited light, and slowly released flavors endow the restless life with slow poetry.
The worst bad things in this world are not always caused by evil and cruelty. No matter how bright the world is, it will fall into darkness, and the most beautiful roses will eventually wither. A hero who faces the darkness is always alone, and the warrior GATO is such a character. In Lv Qian’s story in the picture book「Soul of the Night」, he drove away the demons in the city, and his paintings illuminated the city, leaving only a lonely back in the end. This light is always in our minds. In this fast-changing world, how can we comfort us? This faint light and faint smell are enough to comfort us.
